What does PIR mean in basketball?
效率值Performance index rating
The composite printed directly on FIBA and EuroLeague sheets. It adds every positive event and subtracts every negative one, with no weighting at all. NBA sheets do not carry it.

How it is worked out
(PTS + REB + AST + STL + BLK + FD) − (FGA − FGM) − (FTA − FTM) − TOV − BLKA − PF

Twenty-five points, seven boards, five assists, two steals, a block and six fouls drawn, less seven missed shots, one missed free throw, three turnovers and two fouls: 46 − 13 = 33.
What it leaves out
The lack of weighting is the flaw: a rebound and a point count the same. It is generous to bigs who fill columns and harsh on spacing shooters who do not. Note also that the EFF printed on NBA stat sites is a different expression — it leaves out fouls drawn, blocked attempts and fouls committed — so the two numbers are not interchangeable.
