What does 3P mean in basketball?

Shots from behind the arc. They are already inside FGM-FGA, so adding threes back on top of field goals double-counts them.

2-6 is two of six from deep, and those six attempts also appear in FGA. The FIBA arc is 6.75 m and the NBA’s is 7.24 m, so the same shot is not a three under both.
