What is the difference between the SLOB Stack and the BLOB Box?

They carry different risk, so they prepare different things first. A sideline inbound is thrown near midcourt, and one trapped on the line usually turns into an immediate basket the other way, which is why a SLOB needs a safe release before it needs anything else. A BLOB is thrown from under the basket you are attacking, so even a steal leaves the ball at the far end, and it can spend all five seconds on a scoring look.

Q: How do you defend the SLOB Stack?

Switch everything (SWITCH): Every crossing action out of the stack is switched: nobody chases, everybody hands over. The stack exists so the defence cannot tell who goes first. Break two players in opposite directions at the same instant: the switch has to be decided in half a step, and a wrong guess is an open shot. Deny along the sideline: The defence shades everything toward the sideline and squeezes the catch into the corner, where the out-of-bounds line works as an extra defender. If they shade the sideline, throw the other way. The last player in the stack runs long to the weak side, and the longest pass on the floor is usually the emptiest one. Trap the catch: The moment the ball is caught near the sideline, two defenders trap it against the line. A trap always leaves somebody. Before turning, the receiver passes back to the inbounder, who has just stepped onto the floor with nobody on him.

全部换防Switch everythingSWITCH
