每一种守法都要放弃一点东西，问题只是放弃哪一点。下面是常见的几种，以及它们各自留下的口子。 · Every coverage gives something up; the only question is what. These are the common ones and the opening each of them leaves.
先守球 · Stop the ball
第一个回防的人不找自己的对位，直接迎上持球人，把速度先压下来。 · The first defender back ignores his own assignment and meets the ball to take the speed out of the break.
进攻怎么打： · What beats it: 他一个人守中路，两条边就是空的。持球人正面攻击他，等他真的上来阻挡的那一刻再把球分给全速拉开的边路——早传他还没做选择，晚传边路已经跑到底线了。 · One man on the ball leaves both lanes empty. Attack him head-on and release the wing at the moment he commits: pass any earlier and he has not chosen yet, any later and the wing has run out of floor.
筑墙 · Build the wall
两到三名防守者在罚球线一带并排站住，用人数堵死中路，宁可让外线出手。 · Two or three defenders line up abreast around the free-throw line and take the middle away, conceding the outside shot.
进攻怎么打： · What beats it: 墙的后面和两侧都是空的。持球人急停，把球分给跟进的拖车——他从后面进来时没人接管。 · There is space behind a wall and on both sides of it. The handler pulls up and finds the trailer arriving from behind, whom nobody has picked up.
抢断后场发球 · Pressure the outlet
不回防，反而压住第一次接应传球，让快攻根本发不起来。 · Instead of retreating, the defence pressures the outlet pass so the break never starts.
进攻怎么打： · What beats it: 压第一传就没人管后场。抢下篮板的人自己运球推进一步，或者把球长传给已经跑过半场的边路。 · Pressuring the outlet leaves the backcourt behind it empty. The rebounder either pushes it himself off the dribble or throws long to a wing already past halfcourt.

三线快攻打的是防守还没回来的那几秒；二次快攻打的是防守刚回来、还没对上位的那几秒。前者结束于一次上篮或分球，后者从那个结束的地方开始，不停球直接进入挡拆或高低位。 · The primary break attacks the seconds before the defence gets back. The secondary attacks the seconds after they get back but before they have matched up. The first ends in a layup or a kick-out; the second starts where that ended and flows straight into a screen or a high-low without stopping the ball.
