背掩護做在防守人的背後：掩護人擋住他的退路，被掩護的隊友因此可以趁他背對切入路線時直接切向籃筐。 · A back screen is set behind a defender, blocking the way they would retreat, so the teammate being screened for can cut straight to the basket while that defender's back is to the cut.
什麼時候用 · When it is used防守人正盯著球、背對著切入路線時最有效。UCLA 切入整套就是建立在這一道掩護上的。 · Most effective when the defender is watching the ball with their back to the cutting lane. The UCLA cut is built on one.

下掩護朝端線方向做：掩護人從高位下沉去擋住防守人，位置更低的隊友借這道掩護上提到側翼或弧頂接球。pin down 和下掩護說的是同一個動作。 · A down screen is set toward the endline: the screener drops from up top to block the defender so a teammate below can come up to the wing or the top and catch it clean. A pin down is the same action under a different name.
什麼時候用 · When it is used給射手創造接球投籃空間最常用的一種。球在弧頂或側翼時，底線附近的人靠它上來拿球。 · The usual way to free a shooter for a catch. With the ball at the top or on the wing, the player near the baseline uses it to come and get the ball.

外彈掩護的方向和常見掩護相反：接掩護的人不朝球跑，而是朝遠離球的一側彈出到外線空檔。 · A flare screen faces the opposite way to most screens: the receiver does not cut toward the ball, they flare away from it into space on the perimeter.
什麼時候用 · When it is used防守人搶到掩護的球側、準備封死朝球那條路線時，往反方向彈出就是空位。 · When the defender jumps to the ball side of the screen to deny the usual cut, flaring the other way is open.

橫掩護Cross Screen
也叫橫向掩護 · cross pick
橫掩護橫穿禁區做，通常在低位：一名球員橫過來給另一名擋人，讓隊友換到自己想要的那一側要位。 · A cross screen is set across the lane, usually low: one player screens across for a teammate, who uses it to seal on the side they want to receive on.
什麼時候用 · When it is used想把內線換到弱側要球、或者把防守人擋在身後不讓他繞前時用。 · Used to move a post player to the side they want the ball on, or to leave a defender behind rather than in front.

遠離球掩護是傳球之後不追球，轉身去給另一側的無球隊友做掩護。 · Screening away means the passer does not follow the ball. They turn instead and set a screen for an off-ball teammate on the other side.
什麼時候用 · When it is used傳切進攻裡最基本的一條連接：球往一邊走，人往另一邊動，防守沒辦法同時看住兩處。 · The basic connector in motion offense: the ball goes one way and the players go the other, so the defense cannot watch both.

連續雙掩護是兩名（或更多）掩護人前後排開，同一名隊友接連借這兩道掩護跑出來。 · A stagger is two screeners (or more) set one behind the other, with the same cutter using both in sequence.
什麼時候用 · When it is used一道掩護擋不住的射手，就用兩道。防守人擠過第一道，往往就趕不上第二道。 · For a shooter one screen cannot free. A defender who fights over the first is usually late to the second.
